Clarendon farmer believed to have committed suicide

The police are reporting that a 53-year-old man whose body was found in McNie district in upper Clarendon on Monday, November 26, is suspected to have committed suicide.

The deceased has been identified as Leroy Lewinson, a farmer of Top Quarter district, Smithville, Clarendon.

Reports from the Frankfield police are that about 7:30 a.m., residents stumbled upon the body and alerted them.

On the arrival of the police, the body was seen hanging from a tree by a piece of rope that was tied to its neck.

The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue.

Further investigations continue into the development.
